In the second quarter of 2022, the top social networking apps in Sweden demonstrated varied performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 12K and 20K. The app saw a consistent increase in active users, peaking at around 3M by the end of June.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily experienced a notable rise in popularity. Weekly downloads grew from 5.3K at the end of March to approximately 11.6K by the end of June. Active users also surged, starting at 22.6K and reaching 77.8K by the quarter's end.

Facebook saw a slight decline in downloads from 12.5K at the end of March to around 9.5K by late June. Despite this, it generated weekly revenue ranging from $4.8K to $8.1K. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around 3.4M to 3.6M throughout the quarter.

Messenger exhibited consistent download figures, ranging from 12.3K to 17K weekly. Revenue was modest, with peaks and troughs between $55 and $179. Active users showed a slight decline, from 2.9M at the end of March to 2.8M by June's close.

Telegram Messenger had weekly downloads fluctuating between 6.7K and 9.3K. Notably, the app saw a revenue spike in mid-June, reaching $412. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging from 400K to 430K.
